Thread: Realtek ALC887 Intel/HDA audio card "undetected" after installing softphone

hi,

i've tried correct this.
pc dell xps 7100 ubuntu 11.10

normally, soundcard detected , sound works good.
lately i've installed skype. installed sound option wheren't there anymore. no audio card detected !
when delete skype (or other softphone application), sound card detected again. same thing happens when connect bluetooth audio speaker.

strangely connexion bluetooth speaker working not long ago...

i've followed every step of "debugginsoundproblem" document...

idea ?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
