Thread: yahoo messenger and ubuntu 10.10

i have been using ubuntu 10.10 32 bit time now. use messenger email account. last couple of weeks when double-click on contact, messenger small window wouldn't open. fumbled around , opened messenger options , changed small window tabs. never figure out how send message tabs close tabs , open messenger options again , change tabs small window , small window open fine. if logged out of firefox , logged in had same routine again use messenger within yahoo mail. today, messenger options won't open.

else having or have had similar problems ubuntu 10.10 , yahoo messenger?

run mepis, pclos, crunchbang, , windows xp , don't have problem yahoo messenger in yahoo mail of them. firefox version in ubuntu 10.10 9.0.1.

a) support ubuntu 10.10 ends in april, im not sure if want bother bottom instead of upgrading newer ubuntu release.

b) try browser - i.e. chromium, opera. firefox 9.x quite new. im not having problems on firefox 9.x on gentoo, thats different story alltogether.

c) use desktop messenger , i.e. empathy, pidgin, kopete...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
