i using cs5 in windows 7 professional.  in reviewing windows 8, find functions huge step in improved io presentation , performance.  such,  considering windows 8 video editing.  can expect improved performance cs5 in windows 8 , should move in direction? 

what can expect improved performance cs5 in windows 8

 

zero. win 8 in pre-alpha state when cs5 came out, nobody begin implement os-specific optimizations. in fact may see opposite: due compatibility , driver issues, vertain hardware acceleration features e.g. in premiere may not work expected @ all.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
