Lightroom 4 tethering unusable with Nikon D800

i on lr 4.4 using nikon d800e.

 

i had been using lr tethered intermittent locking issues since lr 3 nikon d300.

 

about 4 months ago, purchased nikon d800e , started use tethered (as had done d300) lr 4.

 

it lock consistently , have reboot computer regain functionality. happen many times during shoot, tethering became unusable.

 

after testing, turns out problem occurs when camera's buffer reaches zero. lr consistently unable recover 0 condition. periodically allow 1 more shot after bit (as if tried recover), shot in lr has esclamation mark damaged data. , @ point never recover without complete computer reboot.

 

i'm shooting team in studio - can't have lr flakey - not acceptable not able reach 0 buffer condition while shooting (i'm using profoto , can recycle faster camera can send lr). not usable in current state tethered nikon d800. not usable.

 

i had switch using nikon's camera control 2 (which functions , never has trouble recovering 0 buffer condition), until adobe can fix significant bug.

 

come on adobe - fix software functions.

 

p.s. noticed conveniently adobe removed functionality of report bug link.

i have issue d800 connected win8 x64 pc in lightroom. connection not stable , annoying. tried including different cable, usb port, usb 2.0, 3.0.

 

in short, first time after pc on, running lr , tethering fine. if switch camera off, turn on again, , never returns in lr tethering.

 

then found there 32gb cf card in camera, more 16gb photos in it. in fact, correct connection, green led on camera keep flashing long time - downloading - when finished flashing, connected pc. (again, switch off , not come until next rebooting)

 

i remove card, , pluged in empty 8gb card. , issue turns out 'better'. tethering function normal after swithing camera off , on again. however, after switch camera off, have switch on , off twice bring camera in windows file explorer. , have close tethering menu bar , start again.

 

it seems cf card did different, should not be. right? pc connection transfer image camera pc, not card stuff.

 

i used tethering d3 old version of lr, no problem @ all. seems quite annoying.

 

any comment appreciated.
