PDF with embedded fonts prints in Courier

i created pdf using large word file , jpeg pages.  bought new font (archer book) word file.  using mac , adobe acrobat pro xi trial version.  when created pdf, combined large word file of text , picture pages, word pages printed pdf word, , jpeg photos.  archer book listed embedded subset, type 1, , different types of encoding in document properties resulting pdf file.  looks great on screen , prints correctly laptop , computer @ house not have archer book font installed on it.

 

however, when took staples , printed it, came out courier.  cannot understand why; said because font wasn't embedded -- according document properties, was.  tried use distiller make new pdf, thinking maybe couldn't in acrobat, got error message:

%%[ flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) ignored ]%%

  %%[ warning: postscript error. no pdf file produced. ] %%

 

i @ total loss @ point, , of course under huge time crunch.  if can tell me try next, appreciate it!

1.distiller doesn't read word documents, normal.

2.it sounds if staples have serious fault. there's nothing can fix problems, find print service.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
