code:
gw687av:~$ sudo fdisk -lu /dev/sda disk /dev/sda: 250.1 gb, 250059350016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 30401 cylinders, total 488397168 sectors units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes i/o size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes disk identifier: 0x075b075b device boot start end blocks id system /dev/sda1 2048 11292671 5645312 82 linux swap / solaris /dev/sda2 11293756 488392064 238549154+ 5 extended /dev/sda5 11296768 209272831 98988032 83 linux

want add unallocated space sda5 ext4 partition.
gparted can't since says:
libparted messages ( info )
can't have overlapping partitions.
i don't understand problem is...
can give help?

partitions need contiguous, i've had same problem before. in case, did first try shrinking partition before expanding partition? wouldn't recommend unless files backed though
