Thread: Can't seem to change my windows partition mount to READ-ONLY

i dual booting, running windows 7 , ubuntu 11.10. when system starts windows file system mounted , provides me read-write access.

experienced file corruption while transferring , forth between operating systems, , decided best make file system read-only.

when go properties->permissions of mounted file system , change permissions read-only, changes original setting. gives?

thought go /etc/fstab , change 1 of options "ro", can tell me why don't see file system listed there when mounted? under impression if drive mounted listed in file. linux partition , swap listed.
