Thread: compaq mini 110 no internet!

having installed usb 32 bit latest ubuntu, housemate's laptop wont use wireless adaptor. connecting directly modem ethernet leads nowhere.

assume if connect internet, ubuntu find required drivers, can't...what now?
please help!

i have same computer , had never problems connecting internet, neither wired nor wireless.

in fact during installation, connection should have been set up.

able run sort of live system, either cd in external drive or booting usb stick etc?
media did install from?
version of ubuntu?
suitable drivers included on installation iso of ubuntu.


if possible try other distro, partedmagic.com or similar, see if hardware problem.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
