afternoon all. i’m pretty new linux , have chosen ubuntu personal flavor. i’ve run handful of different distros in virtualbox windows 7 host. dangerously close making linux primary os (if eq2 work, i’d make jump!)

question seems rather silly; but, can’t figure out how make happen. want make system never log me out , dim screen during inactivity. @ least, i’d bump out perhaps 15 minutes. “problem” because on in monitor 1 reading how in linux in virtual window open in monitor 2. keep having log ubuntu machine. it’s sill rather annoying. how change log out screen lock functionality?

input. hear ubuntu community greatest in helping people out…especially if results in person leaving windows embrace linux.

p.s. step step set of eq2 in ubuntu wonderful too

go screensaver (search in dash it).
there should option in lines of "lock screen when screensaver launches" or something...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
