Thread: Some dual boot problems

i have been using ubuntu 10 months still bit wet behind ears. installed ubuntu alongside vista basic on acer laptop no issues. have friend wanted dual boot vista/ ubuntu (all versions of ubuntu 11.04) on hp dv6-1030us. first install ubuntu worked fine grub did not detect vista. ( gave trying fix , deleted vista partitions.) couple months goes , decides wants run vista , ubuntu. re-install vista , works fine, ubuntu not work. not grub menu. above average ability in windows no means professional can not understand why having many problems.last bit of info thought of last minute, have changed boot flags @ point partitions , can vista boot. beginning think sort of hp problem on model. assistance appreciated. if need info me on pc ask it.

next question if format , install ubuntu windows in virtual box, how run running vista home in ubuntu 11.04 on dual core t6400 running 2.00 ghz 3gb of ram. more importantly netflix , i-tunes work properly?

netflix not going run in virtualbox without lot of tweaking anyway , system little light on resources have great performance vista , virtualbox netflix in opinion.

reason ubuntu not detected windows wants operating system on computer , on writes grub menu of ubuntu ubuntu still there unless let windows have entire desk.

not expert on here link reinstalling grub.

need use livecd , chroot ubuntu.

can post results of command can see if ubuntu still there.
