Thread: Ubuntu doesn't boot after changing xorg.conf

it's simple title. ubuntu doesn't boot.

using recovery mode can root shell, can't use it's read-only.
if try use "remount", after 20 minutes, hangs this:
code:
fsck util-linux 2.19.1 /dev/sda5: clean, 450828/9641984 files, 7288848/38549504 blocks (check after next mount) [ 219.409973] ext4-fs (sda5): re-mounted. opts: errors=remount-ro
selection "fsck" option hangs
code:
fsck util-linux 2.19.1
another thing i've noticed that, when using ctrl-c exit them, ctrl-c gets stuck on
code:
* checking battery state...
(even though use desktop computer)

phew! nevermind, managed fix this. after painstaking 1-2 hours managed find solution.

first dropped root shell.
typed in
code:
mount -rw -o remount /sda5
then, using
code:
nano
put these defaults:
  • /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
  • /etc/lightdm/unity-greeter.conf
  • /etc/x11/xorg.conf (you can delete 1 or clear out, whichever suits you)
  • /etc/gdm/init/default

after worked fine!
hooray learning myself?
