Adjust Playback Volume Level in Program Monitor - PPro CS5

is there way reduce overall volume level playback in program monitor window in premiere pro cs5?

 

i don't want change level in project, how loudly monitor plays.

 

i can reduce using windows volume adjustments, have put when exiting ppro, , in meantime notification sounds other running programs can lost.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
