Cannot import iphone movies into lightroom 3

i unable import movies made iphone 4s lightroom 3.6 running on macbook pro (os x 10.8.3). still images imported fine via import function of lightroom. import page shows movies, tries import them hangs (even on small files of80mb)

 

with imagecapture apple able transfer files form iphone onto macbook. problem lies not in transferring te files iphone. importing movies harddisk lightroom doesn't work either. 

 

help appreciated

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
