Photoshop CS6 so slow

i've been running cloud version of cs6 few months, , in last several weeks, photoshop has become incredibly slow, , gets stuck on "reading preferences" @ startup.  went through suggested things, (got rid of bad fonts, downloaded brushes incredibly slow, , reset settings enhance speed), it's barely made dent.  contacted apple support, , said it's issue adobe software.  also, reallllllly doesn't open .ai documents in psd, problem me need work in both every day.  advice? 

run disk utility repair permissions, use tools onyx remove stray temp files, check ps' recovery function , memory settings. contrary urban legend, macs not indestructible , can suffer such systemic issues well.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
