Thread: 11.10 Encrypted Home Directories + "X11 connection rejected because of wrong authenti

i have desktop machine @ home running ubuntu 11.10 oneiric ocelot , has encrypted home directories configured. i've got laptop use. desktop configured allow ssh login using openssl authentication - no passwords.

earlier today, attempted login desktop laptop , open x application, when wife logged in , using desktop. wasn't able open session, due following error:

x11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication.

i figured out because use encrypted filesystem, mounted filesystem manually, tried again, , still received same error when trying launch app. can advise? don't error if logged in on desktop.

...i suspect key in xauth timeout , may need manually run xauth. i'm not arguments. otoh, there way force ubuntu automount home filesystem? i.e., add openssl key "authorized" key decrypt filesystem?
