Thread: 160 gb HDD, 86.8 GB in use?

i have 160 gb hdd, did fresh install of xubuntu 11.10 month ago. in world taking space?

file system total:
258750 items, totalling 86.8 gb
53.4 gb free

of home folder contains: 1973 items, totalling 392.3 mb

makes no sense lightweight desktop environment xfce take disk space.

let me know if have advice on how clean of up.

take @ thread analyze taking space. undeleted trash (your's , root's), large log files, or backups stored on / should have been stored on partition.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
