Thread: Authentication attempt was unsuccessful

well, installed ubuntu 11.0 4 set login automatic, turns down every time go user accounts , try unlock, windows pops out , asks password, input password reason gives me following error:
authentication attempt unsuccessful, please try again.
same thing happen while input sudo command or try download application. know bug, how can rid of it.

have search on forums answer, none of them seems work
have tried boot in recovery mode, mount system change password not help
please need badly
in advance

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
