Thread: Can't Install Software from Software Centre

hi all,

totally new linux , ubuntu, if have solution, please bear in mind explanation have suit total newbie!

whatever try install using ubuntu software centre, returns message ...

unhandleable error occured

there seems programming error in aptdaemon, software allows install/remove software , perform other package management related tasks.

hi , welcome forums

open terminal ctr+alt+t , run following commands (best copy , paste):

sudo apt-get clean   sudo apt-get update   sudo apt-get upgrade
if there errors reported, post them here.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
