Thread: Could not find a configuration file for package OpenCV
using ubuntu 11.04 system...
i'm trying install pyopencv (a computer vision library), , having problems. requires few other items opencv (2.1.0-3ubuntu1), boost (1.42.0), boost.python (1.42.0). far installed (except pyopencv) ubuntu software center. problem. when try run command (this script install pyopencv):
# python setup.py config
error message: " not find configuration file package opencv."
way, noticed finding python 2.7, rather version need use (2.6). if library found. problem. thought should uninstall python 2.7, since don't use , setup script find python 2.6. when tried uninstall python 2.7 using ubuntu software center wouldn't let me (due other stuff somehow needs python 2.7).
ready question? question is, should question be???? .
here's more concrete question: in of online blogs, , hinted @ in documentation on software webpages, suggested installing scratch manually may better way proceed, 1 has bit more control on process, , is. should uninstall possible in ubuntu software center, , reinstall using get-apt, tar, , that?
1 benefit end more up-to-date versions, , have step-by-step tutorials , running. ubuntu doing me reminds me little of ms world, (finally) escaped.
ideas??
