i tried install oracle 11g r2 in ubuntu 11.10 , find method on internet none of them succeeded in installing
there way install oracle in ubuntu

wrong, successful.

first, need set oracle users, kernel parameters , permissions etc, according first 3 tutorials mentioned in post here:

work partially, need combine 3 working version 11.10.

then, when come compilation problems, need refer perfect post (also read comments):

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
