Thread: Problem installing first class client

hi i'm trying install first class client .deb file found on website.
error message (unfortunately in danish)

dpkg: fejl under behandling af /home/bjarke/skrivebord/fcc-10.014-linux.i686.deb (--install):
kan ikke bne filen '/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci//.svn': er et filkatalog
der opstod fejl under behandlingen:
/home/bjarke/skrivebord/fcc-10.014-linux.i686.deb

why can't install .deb file?

based on information on web site, .deb package made debian, not ubuntu.

though 2 distributions have lot in common, including package manager, aren't compatible , names of various packages etc. things different between debian , ubuntu.

you'll have use .tar.gz instead.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
