using ubuntu 11.10 , trying printer able use scanning function:

canon imageclass mf4690
black & white laser multifunction

people in linux operating systems when there no drivers available download such hardware?

keep in mind complete newbie linux.

i should mention guess have drivers installed on windows 7 os on hardrive. ive heard of people using things "wine" or "virtual box" run windows software in linux not considered ideal fix. im not sure how either of programs work option getting printer scan?

appreciated.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
