Thread: Reinstall networking

hi. updated ubuntu linux 11.10 whereupon became unable connect internet. soley down own stupidity , ineptitude ended uninstalling networking. have ubuntu 11.10 installation disk don't know how resolve dilemma. appreciate help. in advance.

how connect internet? eg, computer --> ethernet port --> ethernet cable --> router?

possible more specific "uninstalling networking?"

build list of have installed command:
dpkg --get-selections "*" > desktop/applications

don't know if work sure, it's 1 thing try: go http://packages.ubuntu.com/oneiric/net/ , select "network manager." download flash drive, , each of listed dependencies not appear in "applications" text file. install downloads on problem system , reboot.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
