Thread: run custom script on gnome3 shutdown

dear all,

how execute custom script when gnome3 shuts down either via logout or shutdown of computer?

have vmware virtual machines running in background. want suspend them automatically before gnome session closes. somehow need tab gnome shutdown sequence.

use cairo-dock or screenlets , create desktop launcher execute script < sudo shutdown now> last command in script

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
