Thread: Server does not Establish Network

i have home server not connect home network. working fine until tried installing mythtv on it. have been following this guide. installed 'ubuntu-desktop' package instead of 'gnome-core' since 'gnome-core' not working oneiric. installed fine , had connection whole time. used synaptic install mythtv. had restart in order put 'mythtv' group. after that, hasn't worked. on first reboot, locked in debian boot screen, hard-rebooted it. every time since, boots up, says effect of "getting network config", followed "will wait 60 more seconds", "booting without full network configuration". proceeds few more boot operations tells me apache2 starting followed "checking battery... [ok]". after stops. has blinking underscore , won't let me anything. have tried recovery mode, don't know there won't uninstall there.

help/suggestions appreciated.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
