Thread: sound not muted when headphones are inserted

i have problem oneiric install.. when plug in headphones speakers don't turned off... sound transmitted through normal speakers , headphone @ same time.
need go alsamixer , turn down sound speakers manually. every time use sound-control (kmix) speakers turned on @ full power again.

normal way speakers turned off when headphone inserted.

think issue appeared recently, 3-4 weeks ago. can't remember when last used headphones on laptop before that, may in fact have been broken longer. used work fine before upgraded oneiric (i can't whether never worked on oneiric or broke more recently)

feature called, headphone jack sense.

edit: googled results that, have no idea how fix since never use headphones, hope of help.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
