Thread: System refuses to boot from disc or USB

my gigabyte ga-ep-ud3p refuses boot windows, without hard disk connected.the bios says: boot cd/dvd... , boots screen saying windows hard disk missing, didn't know possible. using bitlocker w/ tpm on drive, i'm not sure if that's related.

i've reset , cleared cmos/bios, , tried moving sata port around dvd drive. usb stick have .iso on won't boot, booted , installed system on system few minutes prior.

i'm not sure how proceed, there can haven't done yet?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
