Thread: Ubuntu 10.04 (easy peasy 1.6)

i have tried numerous times install ubuntu-related operating system (easy peasy 1.6) live usb on 'extended partition' on hdd without success (it install 'second usb' 'live usb' not hdd). every time have tried 'not-so-easy peasy's' installer claims needs resize partitions and/or unmount partitions , promptly fails so, installation cannot proceed. rigmarole nonsense, not least because partitions (ie. logical drives) not need resizing, none of them mounted in first place , none of installers used other linux distros have on extended partition (ie. ubuntu; fedora; peppermint; linux mint) have caused many problems.
can please let me know whether there way around problem. there perhaps reliable installer can download in order easy peasy on hdd? otherwise, possible copy ('dd') successful installation have got on 'second usb' straight on appropriate logical drive on extended partition and, if is, can please let me know in precise terms code need use type of thing via command line? (incidentally, have tried contacting easy peasy forum directly no-one has ever bothered reply hoping ep ubuntu-related distro on main ubuntu forum may able help). thanks, davidc
