Thread: usb hub is not detecting

hi, bought "iball lappie piano 423 4 port usb hub". works fine windows os in ubuntu not detecting it. using ubuntu 11.04 on desktop. please me.

plug in before switch on laptop, , switch laptop on. see if hub recognized.

also, try in terminal (as root) write "modprobe usb-storage" , see if mounts it.

if does, add line "usb_storage" in /etc/modules.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
