Can someone help me troubleshoot Flash install on my iMac and Macbook please?

os 10.7.5

safari

 

on both machines installer runs, begins downloading update, sits on 7% 30s jumps straight 47% , aborts download message 'download timeout'.

 

it same every time. have tried uninstalling previous version of flash, made no difference.

 

the things machines have in common are:

- on same network, sharing same internet connection

- running same version of os , safari (apart differences between imac , macbook versions)

 

i'm not sure try next. ideas?

after downloading, close browsers , double-click file downloaded.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
