Thread: AutoEthernet connected - no internet connection

dear forum,

restarted ubuntu11.10-machine use @ work. restart necessary because of security-updates.

not have internet access. computer connected via ethernetcable , has static ip: 160.45.***.**

ifconfig shows 10.0.1.3 ip - have no clue comes from.

networkmanager says autoethernet connects succesfully. there should dhcp error? dhcp set adjust automatically.

tried un- , replug cable, delete autoethernet networkmanager profile , ... that: restart machine.

shall deliver more information?


ps: hope german output not irritate you.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
