Thread: Boot to text-only runlevel fails


hi all,

i'm experiencing troubles booting text runlevel.
i'm running ubuntu 10.04 , tried following:

changed in /etc/init/rc-sysinit.conf

code:
env default_runlevel=2
into

code:
env default_runlevel=3
.

changed in /etc/init/gdm.conf

code:
stop on runlevel [016]
into

code:
stop on runlevel [0136]
.

reason not know doesn't work.
boots , starts gnome session, if nothing changed.

code:
runlevel
returns

code:
n 3
can help?
