Thread: Choosing distros

i built low-powered (green) computer w/ intel atom d525 processor, 4gb ram, small ssd run simple media / backup server.

goals: * usenet (sabnzbd, sickbeard) * vpn * shared folders (samba) * greyhole * torrentflux (or other web-based torrent solution)

set on amahi. love how have one-click installs, easy use web interface, no mess solution--until found out of apps have install fees (i poor student).

manage server running ubuntu , have basic linux knowledge , comfortable w/ terminal, make quick , painless, maintenance-free of server possible.

suggestions?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
