Thread: a how to send mailto links to webmail 11.10

install 'desktop-webmail' package
run package, found in internet , select 1 of providers

(i run gnome shell, assume unity similar)

note:
might have setup thunderbird (even bogus names) next part show up, did. until then, system info default mail never listed 'desktop webmail' selectable option.

goto default applications found in system info
set default mail desktop-webmail instead of thunderbird or evolution

run chrome , installed mailto extension , set webmail

updated desktop-webmail package version 003 following link.

if dont know how, use this:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:asac/sandbox
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install desktop-webmail

verify use 003 based version using:
dpkg -l desktop-webmail

so when click on mailto link, loads webmail page instead.
