i have dell latitude e5420 running ubuntu 11.10

mouse has issue; seems pause , have catch should be. instead of smooth motion jerks across screen.

can happen anytime - right after boot when no applications started. if reboot problem can still there or goes away.

strange.... run xp in virtualbox , mouse running within virtualbox if jerky in ubuntu...

ideas?

moved general help, not seem specific dell.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
