Thread: Problem Starting Lubuntu 11.10 After Installation

after umpteen attempts install ubuntu in various guises failed miserably, thought i'd succeeded 32-bit alternate version of lubuntu 11.10.

although seemed go install, black screen when start it.

after reading many emails similar issues i've removed "quiet splash" , inserted "nomodeset" initial startup command file, , tried variants locate graphics (starting vga=791) far no success.

machine asus a7n8x motherboard nvidia nforce2 chipset.

when try start it, gets far saying:
  • starting ntp server ntpd [ok]
  • starting bluetooth [ok]

, that's it.

gratefully received.

same problem here... remove bluetooth services still hung @ startup

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
