Thread: Remote dynamic update of root partition on ubuntu installation

hello!

i'm looking possibility of how remotely , dynamically updating/switching entire root partition of ubuntu installation.

have been thinking following scenario:
1: remote client has in effect 2 root partitions each separate ubuntu installation.
2: system boots 1 partition "active" one.
3: other partition "standby" partition not used.
4: update root partition download new partition image , install image on "standby" partition.
5: update grub boot on standby partition.
6: reboot
7: system boots , "standby" partition "active" partition.

the way it?
there other , better ways it?
can point in direction of documentation?

regards
