Thread: VNC viewer doesn't show applications menu

i'm running vnc server (tightvnc) on ubuntu 11.04, , viewing screen sharing on mac , using chicken of vnc on mac. works fine except see terminal window in vnc session. don;t see unity desktop.

ran unity_support_test on system running vnc server, , showed supported. ran same thing in vnc session, , seg faulted. reason, appears, unity not supported in vnc.

changed classic desktop, , restarted vnc server, still have same problem- terminal window, no applications menu. enabled remote desktop access remote desktop dialog accessed via system settings menu.

i'd have access desktop environment in vnc; don't care if it's unity or classic. how can make work?
