Difficulty cropping

hi,

 

i'm trying use rect marquee tool selection , crop photo when nothing happens.

 

a couple of strange things have/are happening:

 

-at 1 point, while in transform selection there added space around marquee, became new edge, opposed marquee itself.

 

-the marquee in shape of rounded rectangle.

 

any idea what's going on/how fix this?

did feather, give rounded rectangle rectangle?

 

what happens soft slection marquee goes around centere of selection, using crop goes outere edge adn can oftne nohting happening cause outer edge ofthe soft selection may past edge of document
