How do I create a master fade-in/fade-out for a sequence?

how create master fade-in/fade-out sequence?

 

i'm totally new premiere...

 

in final cut 7 can take entire sequence , create "nest" out of it, becomes single editable object in timeline. can apply fade-in entire sequence, if there multiple clips transparency right off top. can apply "broadcast safe" video effect make sure video levels legal. how similar in premiere?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
