Thread: Audio over HDMI ATI Radeon HD 6310

this re-post hardware support forums.

got asrock e350m1/usb3 mini-itx motherboard. super excited using board htpc given low power consumption.

installed 10.04.3 lts because had handy , because prefer lts versions. things worked out-of-the-box, except can't seem audio on hdmi port.

i've been searching around net few days haven't found promising. did poke around alsa's website, lists seem focused on soundcards , not graphics cards audio on hdmi. (edit: check out this ubuntu.org page) i've included information on hardware being used:

in sound preferences, check hardware tab , make sure hdmi there , selected. there profile , 'test speakers' button there can use see if hardware set. (if hdmi isn't there, lspci , drivers , whatnot become significant hassle imho)

second thing check on output tab device sound output needs have hdmi selected.

after that, run alsamixer (install if need be, it's nice console app) , make sure input , output levels set need.
