Thread: Default Home Directories - Link somewhere else? (10.04)

hey forums,

i've got strange issue i'd figure out. after regular install of ubuntu 10.04 see there bunch of directories made me in home directory (videos, music, documents) there anyway can have directory on drive appear there? use multiple operating systems , transfer files , them using 500gb backup drive. i'd have home directory somehow have short cut drive or similar allow me link existing music, video, document directories somewhere on backup drive.

think i'm looking called symlinking? kind of short cut different... apologize horrible explanation, knows i'm talking lol.

if external hard disk connected, create folder in home folder , mount external hd automatically folder.

achieved editing /etc/fstab file.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
