Thread: Exporting directories with binded subdirectories

dear all,

i've been scratching head regarding , thought i'd post see if missing obvious!

scenario this:

server contains large folder called "programmes" lvm volume , shared on network (mixed between ubuntu , osx) users granted r/w access.

webcam has been fitted our studio (i'm writing radio station in london) , ftps images user account on server (/home/webcam).

i'd bind /home/webcam directory under programmes accessible network when programmes exported.

i've done following in fstab:
#lvm disk
uuid_of_lvm /media/programmes ext3 errors=remount ro,users,user,relatime

#bind web cam directory , remount new ro options
/home/webcam /media/programmes/web_cam none bind,user 0 0
/media/programmes/web_cam /media/programmes/web_cam none remount,ro 0 0

#bind export directory , use rbind include submounts
/media/programmes /export/programmes bind rbind

in /etc/exports:

/export/programmes 10.0.2.0/255.255.255.0(nohide,fsid=0,async,all_squash,anonu id=1000,anongid=1000,insecure,no_subtree_check,rw, crossmnt)

can see web-cam folder on clients empty. suspect issue user permissions since i'm exporting users home directory (coincidently, on ubuntu has lock on directory)

if you've read far thank you!
