Thread: hardware problem or something else?

hi all,

lent eee 901 sister
after 1 week, got back, selection seems jump around
- looks "tab" button being pressed (that without being pressed), making computer pretty unusable (as selected field keeps changing, typing impossible)

tried booting live usb, , plugging in usb keyboard.

idea if there other things can try, or if pretty point , click laptop on?

happy last hours of year!

what results booting livecd , using external keyboard? if behaviour livecd different, problems may software related. if external keyboard fixes it, internal keyboard defect. there signs on suface laptop has been dropped or otherwise damaged?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
