Thread: Question about Advanced Format (4096-byte physical sector)

so had time , installed new hard drive bought couple of months ago. (wd caviar green 2tb) installed drive , formated in ubunto. problem got warn message "warning: partition misaligned 512 bytes" .. , no matter did got same error. solved first formating drive under windows 7 (4k sectors ntfs) , re-formating under ubunto file system wanted.

question now, after re-formating under ubunto, file system still set 4k sectors? , check that?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
