Thread: Want to install Ubuntu OS on a Hewlett-Packard G62

dear ubuntu-users,

new here in board , have apologize bad english - 16 years old , germany. please forgive me mistakes.

installed ubuntu many times on notebook , on other pcs after few days turned windows. yesterday installed windows 7 professional , noticed graphic card don't work - whyever.

i've had fill of windows , want ban windows vom hdd , want install ubuntu. or should install kubuntu/xubuntu? can give me advice?

notebook hp-g62-143a intel core i3-350m processor , "ati radeon hd 5470" graphic card. wlan card "broadcom 802.11n network adapter" , lan card "realtek pcie fe family controller". driver have use?

, last time installed ubuntu had problem notebook temperatur. minutes after system start notebook getting hot notebook turned off. how can solve problem?

well, xubuntu great during 10.10 era, expecially due fact computer ran way faster. after 11.10, it's same speed ubuntu, @ least if have computer. thinking switching else, not before clean room , wired internet in room.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
