How can I get a download to download????

everytime try , download anything, goes photoshop (i have cs4) , says,  photoshop not recognize file!... a  'nerdy photographer gal do'??  have had problem 6 months.  called dear old mumbai,and of course, told me have pay info!  or go adobe support systems.  here am.. adobe seems rich enough, out once free, wouldn't think?  judi

if want here, loosing attitude @ door useful. user user forums , members don't particularly react sort of stuff.

 

that said, downloading? image file? zipped file? downloading where? os, cpu? need provide more infor (and less lip) expect help.
