Problem with links panel when saving down file.

hello,

 

i'm working on 16pp id file contains around 80 small images. i'm working cs6, client cs3, have export idml, friend open in cs4 , export/save down cs3.

 

when client working in cs3 opens file, of images grey boxes , image names not show in links panel. there word 'foo' in place of every link name.

 

any suggestions? saving down far no no?....or there way of doing without corrupting image link names?

indesign not inheritently embed images file - links them on hard drive.

 

you need use file>package , inside packaged folders can save .idml file.

 

you need zip folder , send friend. open idml file , export .inx within folder.

 

your friend needs rezip entire folder inlcuding links , indesign files , send you/client.
