this application cannot installed because installer has been mis-configured. please contact application author assistance.

please remove adobe download assistant , try downloading again. please refer solution in troubleshoot adobe download assistant - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-download-assistant.html

 

if continue face difficulties can try initiating direct download following steps listed @ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
