Thread: Any luck installing PyOpenCV ?

pyopencv has dependencies: opencv, boost, boost.python, etc.

tried installing of these ubuntu software center. following boost tutorial, able example c++ program run (one using header-only library), got stuck attempting run example required separately-compiled boost library.

question is, should uninstall ubuntu software center , start over, installing source (thus getting more current versions), or should put more time trying ubuntu software center's versions work?

has out there had success installing pyopencv on ubuntu 11.04 system?
if so, how did accomplish this?

( i'm new linux, defector ms-land... )

finally got work... though seems crash running idle using python 2.7.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
